Two of our formidable and Illustrious colleagues are sadly no longer with us. Rear Admiral Brian Goodson CB,OBE,KStJ, and
Air Vice Marshall Grahame Jones CBE, BSC, FIET, FRaeS.
Brian Goodson
Brian joined our group in 1999 and subsequently became a Director of companies within the group. He became an honourable executive of the Explora Foundation in 2014. This encompassed our registered charity, the Explora Scholarship Fund, to which he was Chairman of Trustees.
His formal Royal Navy commissions included outstanding contributions in his accent to the status of Rear Admiral. These include HMS Gambia ,HMS Lion, HMS Diana, HMS Invincible, HMS Centurion, and was subsequently promoted to Rear Admiral in 1993. He was also Chairman of the Bath & West Community NHS Trust, President of Calne Royal Naval Association, MInstD, Chair of the Bath and West Community Trust, Chair of South Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust, and a Knight of the Order of St. John.
Brian’s sense of calling, his ability, commitment and character, reached the highest echelons of the Royal Navy. He was highly dedicated to anything to which he was committed . We were also privileged to have Brian as both a valued friend, and highly significant member of our team.
Grahame Jones
Grahame was appointed by the Explora Foundation and subsequently as Secretary General to our registered charity, the Explora Scholarship Fund in 2014.
His former Royal Air Force commissions also included outstanding contributions in his accent to the status of Air Vice Marshall. These include, R.A.F. Henlow, R.A.F. Northwood, R.A.F. Chief of Staff CC & I,& DCiC. NATO, Secretary General IMS HQ NATO, JFC HQ Naples, IMS HQ NATO Brussels, RAF Association Secretary General. Fellow of IET, Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society. His school , Royal Lancaster Grammar School have his name placed on the board for former pupils who gained distinction in their careers/life.
Grahame’s sincerity, prudency, and consistency, in all facets of his outstanding capabilities were highly significant in his achievements in the R.A.F. and subsequently related commissions within NATO. He was highly dedicated to anything to which he was committed.
We were also privileged to have Grahame as both a valued friend, and highly significant member of our team.
